Women's health ultrasound

Ultrasound is one of the most useful tools in women's health — a safe, radiation-free way to see inside the reproductive and abdominal systems using high-frequency sound waves. We perform it right in our office to date a pregnancy, follow your baby's growth, or look into pelvic pain, fibroids, and abnormal bleeding, and we review the findings with you.

What’s included
Early & dating pregnancy ultrasound
Growth & anatomy scans
Transvaginal & pelvic ultrasound
Abdominal ultrasound
Doppler blood-flow studies
3D / 4D imaging
How to prepare

Preparation depends on the scan; we'll tell you exactly what yours needs when you book.

Some scans need a full bladder — drink water and don't empty it beforehand
Others may ask you to fast or avoid certain foods
Wear loose, comfortable clothing
Remove jewelry from the area being scanned
What to expect

Most scans take 20–30 minutes. A conductive gel is applied and a small handheld probe moves over the area with only light pressure — the exam is painless. Your provider reviews the images with you, often the same day, and explains what they mean for your care.

Common questions
Is ultrasound safe?

Yes. Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves rather than radiation, and it's considered safe when performed by trained clinicians — including during pregnancy.

Does an ultrasound hurt?

No. Most scans are painless. You'll feel a cool gel and light pressure from the handheld probe; a transvaginal scan may feel like a brief internal exam.

How should I prepare?

It depends on the scan. Some require a full bladder, so you'll drink water beforehand; others ask you to fast. Wear loose clothing and remove jewelry from the area — we'll tell you what your specific scan needs.

What kinds of ultrasound do you offer?

Abdominal, transvaginal and pelvic, fetal scans including growth and anatomy, Doppler blood-flow studies, and 3D/4D imaging.
