Dr. Sofia Girald Berlingeri is an OB/GYN dedicated to providing thoughtful, compassionate women’s healthcare. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, followed by three years of research at the National Institutes of Health. She earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri and completed her residency at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.

She believes in creating a supportive environment where patients feel heard, informed, and empowered in their healthcare decisions. She especially values the opportunity to build lasting relationships with her patients, care for them through different stages of life, and share in the meaningful moments surrounding pregnancy and childbirth. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is deeply committed to bridging gaps in healthcare and serving diverse communities. Her clinical interests include high-risk obstetrics, preconception counseling and family planning, preventive care, menopause and hormone therapy, and minimally invasive surgery.

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Girald loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and doodle. She enjoys trying new recipes, getting creative with arts and crafts, heading out for a hike, and a good karaoke night.
