Biography
Katherine “Katie” McDonald, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Anna Health in June 2026. She provides compassionate, relationship-based care for patients across the lifespan, with clinical interests in women’s health, newborn care, lactation support, preventive care, and whole-person wellness.
Katie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Physiology from Boston University before completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at George Washington University. She later earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Marymount University.
Prior to joining Anna Health, Katie spent nearly nine years working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. During that time, she developed a deep appreciation for newborn care, family education, and supporting parents as they navigate their child’s early life stages.
Katie chose family medicine because it allows her to care for patients of all ages and support them through many different stages of life. She is passionate about women’s health and enjoys helping patients feel knowledgeable, supported, and confident in their care.
Katie’s approach to care is shaped by her years of supporting patients and families through complex, often emotional moments. She believes good care starts with trust, clear communication, and helping patients understand their options in a practical, reassuring way.
Outside of medicine, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, hiking, traveling to New England, and finding kid-friendly adventures close to home.
