In August, Anna Health Gynecology & Obstetrics was accredited by SRC as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery. Founder Dr. Anna Le and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rami Tabbarah were also individually accredited as Master Surgeons in Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
What the review covers
SRC is a nonprofit patient safety organization that inspects surgical programs against a published standard. The review looks at how often the surgeons perform these procedures, the range of conditions the program treats, the equipment and staffing available, how patients are followed after surgery, and how results and complications are tracked over time.
The inspection is carried out by people from outside the practice. Accreditation runs for three years, so holding it past 2029 means passing inspection again.
Surgical quality is difficult to research on your own. Online reviews describe the front desk and the wait. A physician's bio lists training that may be twenty years old. Neither describes how a surgical program operates now, and that is most of what an accreditation review is for.
The procedures we perform
Most of our gynecologic surgery is done through small incisions or with no incision at all. That includes hysterectomy, fibroid removal, endometriosis surgery, hysteroscopy, and LEEP. We treat fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, and complex pelvic disease, including cases involving scar tissue from earlier operations.
Most patients go home the same day or within 24 hours, and many are back to normal activity within one to three weeks. The same operations performed through an open abdominal incision usually mean six to eight weeks of recovery.

Before a procedure is scheduled
A surgical consult spends most of its time on whether a procedure is the right step at all. If you come in asking about hysterectomy, we go through the less invasive options first and explain what each one can and cannot do. Sometimes surgery is the answer. Often it is not.
Your priorities shape that conversation, too. Future pregnancy, recovery time, symptom relief, and how invasive a procedure you are comfortable with can all affect which options make the most sense.
Who performs your surgery
The physician who operates may be the same one who has handled your annual exams, managed a pregnancy, or talked you through perimenopause. That continuity means your surgical care can build on a relationship and history already established over time.
For many of our patients, that continuity matters more than any designation does.
Where the accreditation applies
The Center of Excellence accreditation applies to Anna Health Gynecology & Obstetrics at 1892 Preston White Drive in Reston. It does not extend across all eight Anna Health locations.
The Master Surgeon accreditations belong to Dr. Le and Dr. Tabbarah as individual surgeons and apply wherever they see patients.
An accreditation describes a program, not an outcome. Every surgery carries risk, and no review can predict how a single procedure will go. What it establishes is that the program around your procedure has been examined against a standard by people outside the practice, and will be examined again.
