Fertility Testing in Northern Virginia

A fertility evaluation looks for factors that may affect ovulation, ovarian reserve, sperm, the fallopian tubes, and the uterus. Your clinician tailors testing to your age, history, how long you have been trying, and family-building goals.

Who may consider fertility testing

Testing is commonly recommended after 12 months of trying to conceive if the partner providing the eggs is younger than 35, or after six months at age 35 or older. Earlier evaluation may be appropriate for irregular cycles, known uterine or tubal concerns, suspected sperm factors, recurrent pregnancy loss, prior cancer treatment, or plans involving donor sperm, eggs, embryos, or a gestational carrier.

Fertility testing at our Fairfax fertility clinic

Anna Health's fertility team sees patients at our Merrifield / Fairfax clinic. We coordinate the consultation, recommended testing, results review, and treatment planning so you know what each step is for and what it may cost before you proceed.

What to expect

Your evaluation starts with a consultation and medical history. Many testing plans can be completed within one menstrual cycle, followed by a visit to review the results and possible next steps.

Common questions
How much does the evaluation cost?

The consultation is $150. Testing is priced separately because the recommended workup varies by patient. We review the plan and expected costs before you proceed.

How long does fertility testing take?

Many evaluations can be completed within one menstrual cycle, but timing depends on which tests you need and when they must be scheduled.

Do you test both partners?

When sperm is part of the family-building plan, a semen analysis is usually an important part of the evaluation. Your clinician explains which tests are appropriate for each partner.

Does an AMH test measure egg quality?

No. AMH helps estimate ovarian reserve and possible response to fertility medication. It does not directly measure egg quality or guarantee whether pregnancy will occur.

What happens after the evaluation?

Your clinician reviews the findings and their limits with you. The next step may be timed intercourse, IUI, IVF, surgery, donor options, or no immediate treatment. Sometimes testing does not identify one clear cause.
